Break the Targets was made for the Year 2 Semester 2 Programming class, for the assignment where you had to take your previous tank controller assignment and turn it into a fully functional game. For said assignment, the guidelines didn’t require it to be an actual designed game, like it just had to be include a ton of features like saving, level loading, sound effects, music, etc, however I really wanted to push myself for this assignment and so I tried to make it really feel like a full game. Break the Targets has three levels of increasing complexity, where in each you have to break all the targets and make it to the end before the time runs out to win. The game keeps track of how fast it took you to beat each level so as to add some level of replayability to the game, and if you manage to beat the set target time in each stage (the level button in the level select will turn gold when you beat that level’s target time) you unlock a special golden skin for the player character.
